Warehouse Operator, Clerk

Position Summary The Warehouse Clerk carries out customer service activities in a prompt, courteous and effective manner. The major responsibility is timely and accurate handling of customer orders in compliance with all DSV Work Instructions and customer requirements. Job Posting Details Location: USA - South Bend, 5910 Dylan Drive Division: Solutions Job Title: Warehouse Operator, Clerk Time Type: Full Time Schedule Shifts 1B: 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Thursday‑Saturday & alternating Wednesday Shifts 2B: 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM, Thursday‑Saturday & alternating Wednesday Duties and Responsibilities Process all customer orders in a timely and accurate manner. Generate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer orders, checking orders for special requests. Coordinate special, last‑minute shipping requests with operations, expediting orders as necessary. Prioritize customer orders according to scheduled pick‑up time or pier cutoff. Provide shipping and tracking information to customers. Maintain good working relationships with customers by responding courteously to inquiries concerning receipts, shipments, inventory counts, etc. Report customer feedback to management, including any signs of dissatisfaction. Oversee all paperwork associated with orders and maintain corresponding files. Maintain an accurate DSV Work Instructions Manual and comply with work instructions. Answer phone calls and operate office machines and computers necessary to perform duties. Operate computer terminal proficiently and enter and verify data regarding orders, shipments, receipts, and adjustments. Ensure accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents. Gather and maintain all data and records related to shipping and receiving activities. Assist in resolving discrepancies and collect documentation for inbound freight to route to proper record‑keeping. Perform quality control functions: verify products meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, stack, package, shrink‑wrap, and label products per SOP. Execute safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security. Perform other clerical duties, backup support as assigned, and work overtime as dictated by business needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency. Basic mathematical skills. Strong attention to detail and good communication skills. Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse. Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service experience with phone calls and operating office equipment. Physical Demands Occasional bending. Frequent walking and standing. Constant sitting. Ability to lift 11–20 pounds and reach above shoulder, squat or kneel. Work Environment The work environment has low to moderate noise levels and rarely exposure to fumes, chemicals, or toxic substances. Compensation Base pay range: $22.50 – $22.50 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
