That means we look out for one another, take pride in what we build, and take responsibility for our actions, our results, and the long-term health of the company.Guided by our core values of People, Team, Our Bond, Persistence, and Vision, we do what we say we will do, push through challenges and deliver work we're proud of.When you join Ames, you're joining a company built for long-term success — where skilled people, strong teams, and disciplined execution come together to build careers and a better future.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the implementation of project-specific safety plans and company safety programsConduct routine jobsite safety inspections and observations under the direction of senior safety staffSupport daily safety activities including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and orientation trainingHelp track and maintain safety documentation, training records, and inspection reportsAssist with incident, near-miss, and accident investigations, including documentation and follow-up actionsPromote safe work practices by engaging with field crews, supervisors, and subcontractorsHelp ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, project requirements, and company safety standardsParticipate in safety meetings and collaborate with project leadership to support a strong safety cultureServe as a safety resource on the jobsite with guidance from the Project Safety ManagerQualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required)0–2 years of experience in construction safety, internships, or related field experienceBasic knowledge of OSHA regulations and willingness to continue learning regulatory requirementsStrong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with field personnelDetail-oriented with good organizational and documentation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced construction environmentOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Growth & DevelopmentOn-the-job mentoring by experienced Safety ManagersExposure to large-scale heavy civil construction projectsOpportunities for additional certifications (OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, etc.)Clear career path toward Project Safety Manager rolesWorking ConditionsConstruction Site EnvironmentPhysical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, and work outdoorsExposure to varying weather conditions, heavy equipment, and elevated noise levelsOffice EnvironmentAdministrative tasks including documentation and reportingAbility to sit, stand, stoop, and lift 5–20 pounds occasionallyAmes Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
