Lead Software Engineer, Embedded

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with 9 years of prior engineering experience; or a graduate degree with 7 years of prior engineering experience; or, in place of a degree, 13 years of related engineering experience.
• We require an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• We require at least 12 years of experience in the computer/software engineering field.
• We require at least 8 years of professional C++ development experience.
• We require at least 3 years of experience leading software development teams.
• We prefer experience developing and testing real-time embedded software.
• We prefer familiarity with Green Hills RTOS.
• We prefer experience creating device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs) for real-time embedded systems.
• We prefer experience with modern C++ techniques.
• We prefer experience as an Agile ScrumMaster and/or Product Owner.
• We prefer working knowledge of Linux.

• We lead software development by guiding and directing one or more software engineers.
• We run Agile ceremonies, track issues, report status, and coordinate development schedules.
• We apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to develop software for targeted embedded hardware.
• We collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and assess hardware, firmware, and software interfaces, as well as overall system performance requirements and design.
• We investigate complex root causes and implement fixes, working independently or with multidisciplinary teams.
• We support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing.
• We create software test plans, procedures, and other technical documentation.
• We use modeling tools and equipment to gather operating data, conduct experiments, prototype solutions, and evaluate results.
• We participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and resolve defects.
• We work closely with test engineers to help improve and influence test automation.
