Sr. Flight Guidance Engineer

You will contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of the guidance system, and your work will enable the integration of uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace System.ResponsibilitiesDefine guidance system capabilities and requirements in collaboration with operations and pilot teamsDesign guidance system features to integrate with flight control systems and pilot displaysImplement flight guidance algorithms in simulation and flight softwareReduce and analyze simulation, lab, and flight test dataEvaluate guidance system performance and behavior via simulation, hardware-in-loop, and flight test casesBasic Success CriteriaMS in aerospace engineering, robotics, or equivalent field8+ years professional experience developing guidance or motion planning algorithms for real-time vehicle systemsProfessional C/C++ and Python software development experienceExcellent ability to communicate system behavior to end usersPreferred CriteriaPhD in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar advanced degreeTechnical expertise in one of the following areas: motion planning, control systems, probability theory, optimizationExperience developing software for safety critical applicationsExperience with Flight Management System certificationCurrent pilot, instrument or commercial ratingWe are developing and building high-integrity, safety-critical systems for automated flight, and your role is critical to what we do at Reliable Robotics.
