Membership Sales Representative

Location: 92NY May Center - New York, NYPay Transparency: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour (DOE); + up to $2250.00+ monthly sales commission potential; Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Membership Sales Representative is responsible for developing leads for prospective members, providing information to prospective members, and enrolling new members. This person also assists management in meeting membership and financial objectives. This person is responsive to both current and prospective members maintaining Active's highest standards of customer serviceSpecific ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsMeet monthly membership sales and services goal set by the Regional Manager and club General ManagerRespond to telephone and e-mail membership inquiries through the sales CRM, booking and maintaining appointments for prospective members to tour the centerProvide prospective members with an enthusiastic and informative tourEmpower and educate prospective members on the benefits of health and wellnessPresent approved membership options and prices to prospective membersComplete all membership paperwork for new members, including application and orientation requirementsTrack and report daily membership salesContribute to lead generation by distributing passes, fliers, and other materialsDevelop relationships to ensure client success and encourage member referralsAttend management meetings, trainings, and retreatsGenerate leads to the Corporate Sales Department to help open accounts, working with the Corporate Sales Director and Regional Accounts Manager to develop new corporate accountsProvide ongoing maintenance for assigned existing corporate accounts including regular contact with Corporate Ambassadors, distribution of fliers and passesMaintain and submit a commission log each pay period, including all necessary back-up paperwork such as copies of membership applicationsMake follow-up calls to all prospective members who failed to show for their appointments, and all guests who have not yet enrolledAdminister emergency care to members and guests in need of assistanceWork as a TEAM with all other departmentsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorOther FunctionsBe knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by throughout the centersPromote club services and activitiesAssist with keeping the club well stocked and cleanAttend Active Wellness site meetings and trainingsHandle injury and illness and security incident reportingQualifications and Education RequirementsPrevious health club experience is a plus.2 years of sales, client success, or account management experience preferredCommunication skills, basic computer skills, phone etiquette, customer service orientated, committed to fitness industry/environmentMust be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industryAED/CPR/First Aid CertifiedProof of citizenship or legal statusPhysical and Working ConditionsAbility to take the responsibility for the health and safety of othersAbility to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbsFitness club environmentMust follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standardsBenefitsHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance (Full Time)Health Flexible Spending Account (Full Time)Paid Time Off (Full Time)Parking & Transit Flexible Spending Accounts401(k) (Eligible after 1 year of service + 1000 work hours)Legal Support PlanEmployee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support ServiceComplimentary Club Membership and Discounts on Active Products (where applicable)This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
