Currently, our partner is seeking a highly experienced Tax Professional with specialized expertise in Estates and Trusts to join their hybrid team in either Birmingham or Montgomery, Alabama. The ideal candidate holds an active CPA license and brings a minimum of four years of relevant experience.Core ResponsibilitiesEngagement Management & Technical Tax PreparationEvaluate and review intricate trust and estate tax filings, taking lead responsibility for the preparation of highly complex returns.Direct all phases of client engagements, including timeline management, resource allocation, administrative documentation, and cross-departmental coordination.Oversee the preparation and accuracy of related income tax returns.Collaborate with senior firm leadership to investigate complicated tax scenarios and advise clients on highly optimized financial solutions.Team Leadership & Project OversightLead specialized internal projects from conception to completion.Supervise, mentor, and review the daily work of associates and senior associates.Provide leadership, guidance, and strategic direction to departmental staff, including personnel who do not report to you directly.Business Development & Client RelationsCultivate, maintain, and deepen high-quality relationships with the firm's clients.Actively participate in business expansion by marketing the firm's diverse product and service offerings.Identify opportunities to cross-sell services to existing accounts and develop strategies to attract new business.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting.Active CPA credential.At least 4+ years of progressive professional experience in public accounting.Strong specialized background handling estate and trust tax matters.Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to interface effectively with both internal staff and external clients.Demonstrated capability to mentor, guide, and develop junior professionals within a collaborative team environment.
