Development Engineer R&D (based in Taiwan)

Overview This role will be responsible for developing new polymer technology platforms and new polymer products and compounds to meet the medium (2-3 years) and longer term (> 3 years) needs of the Asia Pacific market. Our priority markets are Consumer Electronics and Medical, as well as potential adjacent markets such as Electrical, high‑quality home appliances, and consumer wearables. The employee will need an in‑depth understanding of application requirements and must identify development trends to ensure Trinseo's leadership position in the market segment. The employee should also collaborate with the commercial team to develop new accounts or solve technical problems for existing customers. Responsibilities Identify application development opportunities and define product technologies for key market segments. Drive new market development through the introduction of new or existing products. Provide training and coaching to colleagues to enhance team capability. Qualifications Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. Experience: 3+ years in application knowledge and customer networking. Plastics processing experience. Broad knowledge of plastic fabrication and polymer science (preferred). Experience with formulation of engineering plastics, injection molding, compounding, and application development (valuable). Strong communication skills (verbal, written, instructional). Mandarin speaker with good command of English. Frequent domestic travel required; occasional overseas travel may be necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr Trinseo
