As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) , you\'ll play an integral role in supporting our providers and delivering exceptional care that improves the health and well-being of the communities we serve. Responsibilities The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) coordinates and assists providers to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care for the practice population. This role supports clinical operations by preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, coordinating care, and promoting an exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced pediatric and internal medicine practice. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records. Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures. Administer medications, injections, and immunizations within the scope of certification and organizational policies. Qualifications Education : High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. Experience : Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 Current State Driver\'s License (Palliative Care Only), required Additional Skills/Requirements (required) : Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
