Optical Technician – $14/Hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $14/hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:
Local optical company is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Optical Technician to join their team. This position will provide a combination of customer service, phone support, data entry, and general office assistance. The ideal candidate should be professional, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with customers in a fast-paced office environment. Previous optical experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions and general inquiries
• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service
• Assist customers with scheduling appointments and other basic office needs
• Perform accurate data entry and update customer information in the computer system
• Enter and maintain orders, records, and other necessary documentation
• Assist customers with eyewear-related questions and direct them to the appropriate staff when needed
• Help maintain organized customer files and office records
• Assist with daily office tasks and general administrative duties
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and other departments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment
• Follow company procedures and maintain confidentiality of customer information
• Learn and follow basic optical procedures and terminology
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Previous customer service or office experience preferred
• Optical experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable answering phones and speaking with customers
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Professional and friendly attitude
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must be willing to learn new procedures and computer systems
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
