AI Product Owner (Hybrid)

Job Description As part of AbbVie's Business Technology Solutions, R&D Global Therapeutics, the AI Product Owner will manage development and deployment of AI products and solutions, working closely with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to drive product vision, strategy, and execution. In This Role You Will Be Responsible For Product Strategy & Roadmap: define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap; prioritize features and technical debt. Product Development: collaborate with the team on user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Backlog Management: define and prioritize backlog, write clear stories, refine based on feedback. Technical Expertise: stay current on AI/ML technologies, evaluate tools, and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. Stakeholder Management: build relationships, coordinate with customers and BTS, manage communication and interdependencies. Business Process Improvement: analyze processes, recommend solutions, and support implementation. Quality & Compliance: ensure requirements are met and compliant with regulations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 7 years experience; Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 2 years in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field. 3+ years as Business Analyst or related role. Proven track record of managing the development and launch of software products. Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and traditional AI technologies. Knowledge of software development best practices. Strong technical background and ability to discuss technical concepts. Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence). Excellent organizational, time‑management, leadership, and communication skills. Tools and Skills You Will Use in This Role Technical Writing Skills Agile Scrum, JIRA, Confluence Microsoft M365 Suite Strong Presentation Skills Beneficial Life Sciences industry experience and/or GXP validated systems. Technical writing and consulting background. Technical project management experience. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range is the base pay the company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k). The position is eligible for short‑term incentive programs.
