Diego’s Cantina | University City, St. Louis, MO
Full-Time or Part-Time
Job SummaryDiego’s Cantina is seeking a reliable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing menu items with consistency, maintaining a clean and organized station, and working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Our kitchen focuses on fresh ingredients and fast-paced service, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and works well as part of a team.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume kitchen environment, stays organized under pressure, and is committed to delivering high-quality food every shift.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking
• Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Execute orders accurately and efficiently during high-volume service
Station Organization• Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation
• Prepare ingredients and assist with prep work as needed
• Rotate inventory and ensure ingredients are stored properly
Kitchen Operations• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
• Work efficiently with the team to maintain strong service flow
• Assist teammates during busy periods to keep the kitchen running smoothly
Food Safety & Cleanliness• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
• Maintain a clean kitchen and workstation throughout the shift
• Properly store and label ingredients and supplies
Requirements
• Previous line cook experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures consistently
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dependable and punctual with strong attention to detail
Schedule
• Full-time or part-time opportunities available
