Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlaceYour role at Clorox:The Scientist II - Litter Product Development leads technical development and execution for litter innovation, product improvement, cost savings, material qualification, supply continuity, and maintenance initiatives across AMEA. The role brings a strong consumer and cat focus to uncover unmet needs and translate insights into robust, differentiated technical solutions. This position leads development, scale-up, commercialization, and ongoing product performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. The role also helps shape the future of litter across AMEA, with particular focus on Greater China & Korea, Europe, and Australia.Hybrid - This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to work in the office of 3 days a week and 2 days from home, Monday to Friday.In this role, you will:Lead litter product and process development projects from concept through commercialization using disciplined technical workplans and risk-based decision-making. Design and execute experiments, performance testing, material qualifications, and validation programs; analyze data, identify risks, and recommend mitigation plans that establish product and process robustness. Translate consumer, cat, customer, and business needs into measurable technical requirements and product specifications grounded in how consumers and cats experience and use litter products. Serve as the Innovation SPOC for the AMEA Litter category, coordinating technical activity across innovation, product maintenance, qualification, supply continuity, and cost optimization. Lead technical transfer, scale-up, plant trials, start-up, and implementation with internal and external manufacturing partners. Partner across R&D, Marketing, Insights, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Packaging, suppliers, and external manufacturers to deliver project objectives and strengthen the regional innovation pipeline. Maintain timely technical documentation, specifications, test methods, risk assessments, and project records, while capturing and sharing learnings to build category capability. What we look for:Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, or a related scientific or engineering discipline. Minimum of three years of product and/or process development experience, preferably in consumer products, formulation development, materials, or manufacturing. Demonstrated experience leading multiple technical projects and working with cross-functional partners. Experience with experimental design, data analysis, technical risk assessment, scale-up, and commercialization.
