Carlino’s Specialty Food Market & Bakery is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Receiver to support our daily market operations. This hands-on role is responsible for receiving vendor deliveries, verifying invoices against purchase orders, organizing incoming products, and communicating with our inventory and buying teams to ensure accurate and efficient product flow throughout the business.

The ideal candidate is reliable, physically active, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and attentive to detail. Experience in receiving, inventory, food service, or specialty food retail is a plus.

• Receive and unload vendor deliveries, verifying quantities, products, and condition against purchase orders and invoices.

• Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or incorrect items.

• Organize incoming products and coordinate proper storage and distribution.

• Communicate deliveries, product availability, inventory concerns, and interdepartmental transfers with buying, inventory, kitchen, and market teams.

• Maintain accurate receiving records and assist with inventory control.

• Follow food safety, temperature control, and proper product-handling procedures.

• Keep receiving areas clean, organized, and safe.

• Assist with moving products throughout the facility and supporting general operational needs.

• When qualified and assigned, assist with customer order deliveries and transportation of products.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable with physical work.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently during busy delivery periods.

• Food safety knowledge and previous receiving or inventory experience are a plus.

This is an active position requiring frequent lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, standing, and walking. Candidates must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more as required by the role and work in varying weather conditions while receiving and unloading deliveries.

• Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available.

• Preferred schedule: Tuesday through Saturday .

• Weekend hours are available.

• Seasonal hours may be available during busier periods.

• Availability during holiday weeks is required. Carlino’s is closed on major holidays.

Candidates with a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate larger vans may be considered for additional responsibilities, including delivering customer orders and transporting products between locations as needed.

Driving experience and willingness to take on delivery responsibilities may be considered in determining compensation and the overall employment package.
