CDL Driver (Class A or B)

CDL DriverKamco Supply Corp. of Boston is New England's largest one stop source and distributor of commercial building products including acoustical ceiling systems, architectural doors and hardware, drywall, steel framing, insulation, and exterior systems.We are seeking to add a backup Driver with a CDL to our team. The CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering building materials to customer job sites. This role focuses on standard CDL driving responsibilities.What You'll DoSafely operate a CDL Class A or B vehicle to deliver materials to customer locationsComplete local deliveries (typically multiple stops per day) in a timely and professional mannerLoad, unload, secure, and protect materials to prevent damage during transitPerform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (tires, lights, brakes, fluids)Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and DOT-required logsCommunicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse team, and customersFollow all safety policies, including use of PPE and safe delivery site practicesAssist with warehouse duties, loading, and staging materials as neededWhat You'll BringValid CDL Class A or B licenseCurrent DOT medical cardClean driving record and ability to pass MVR checks (annually)Strong commitment to safety and customer serviceExperience delivering building materials or working in construction supplyForklift experienceFamiliarity with local routes and job site deliveriesSchedule & Work EnvironmentLocal, daytime routes (home daily)Typical schedule: Monday–Friday (with potential overtime during peak periods)Work performed in both warehouse and outdoor job site environmentsExposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitationAbility to drive in varying weather conditionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to pass a DOT pre-employment physical and drug screeningAbility to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds occasionallyFrequent bending, lifting, and securing loadsAbility to enter/exit truck cab and work on job sites safelyCandidates must pass a DOT pre-employment physical, lift test, and DOT drug test.Subject to Criminal background search, Motor Vehicles Record Search, DOT Safety Performance History, and Full Query through FMCSA Clearinghouse.Kamco offers an exceptional salary and benefits including health, dental, life insurance, 401K with a company match, paid vacation, sick time, holidays and more!The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
