Program Specialist

Department: Department of Veterans Affairs The incumbent serves as a project manager and Source Selection Evaluation Board (SSEB) chairperson administering implementation and completion of acquisition actions, including contract modifications and other special projects for the employing organization. Key Responsibilities Serves as project manager for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of specified projects for acquisitions and other elements of the wider employing organization. Plans, directs, coordinates, sets up, and reports acquisition and contract modification projects. Serves on acquisition integrated product teams (IPTs) and as a SSEB chairperson leading acquisition source selection teams. Conducts analyses of business systems to help determine nature of requirements, logical work and information flows, and track execution of programmatic objectives for short- and long-range contracting plans. Determines the number of personnel required to successfully accomplish acquisition project requirements; provides proposals, cost estimates, and updated schedules; and prioritizes project objectives and measures progress toward effectively and economically reaching them. Identifies actual or potential problem areas with current projects and solves them. Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
