Systems Engineer III

Position Summary The Systems Engineer is responsible for strategic planning, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and mission analyses for customer systems. Responsibilities Analyses are performed at all levels of system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems. Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Contribute to the development of technical proposals. Serve as a subject matter expert during proposal reviews. Requirements Formal Education & Certification Master’s degree in the field of engineering, physics, or computer science. PhD is preferred. 20 years of technical leadership experience in scientific research and development. Extensive Systems Engineering experience Active TS/SCI with CT poly Thorough understanding of RF theory, electro-optics, and/or signal processing. Vendor/Customer relations and negotiation skills/experience. Personal Attributes Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail.
