Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy construction and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy machinery. This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and minimizing equipment downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on construction, industrial, and material-handling equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspension components.

• Repair and replace worn or damaged parts, components, and systems.

• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.

• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures.

• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

• Perform welding, fabrication, and cutting as needed for repairs.

• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and equipment service calls as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Technical training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field preferred.

• 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently.

• Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.

• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
