Job Overview:

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse for the Post Intensive Care Unit III at our New Brunswick campus.

This unit, also referred to as the Respiratory Care Unit, features 19 beds equipped with bedside monitors and is designed for step-down ICU and progressive care. We cater to a diverse range of medical patients, including those with ALS, chronic ventilator needs, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal.

Qualifications: Required:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Strong computer proficiency

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or completion within 5 years of hire
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Experience in telemetry and intermediate care
• Prior experience with ventilators

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements:

• Night Shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Monday to Friday, with some weekend and holiday rotations
• Part-time availability

Essential Functions:

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the scope defined by the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while being aware of personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team.
• Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members while collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions aimed at measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
