DOW SkillBridge Military Application (Field Engineer Program) ESI’s DoW SkillBridge Field Engineer Program provides hands‑on opportunity designed to transition Active Duty Service Members into the commercial construction industry through real‑world jobsite experience. Participants support active construction projects by assisting Superintendents and site teams with daily operations, field documentation, subcontractor coordination, safety enforcement, quality control, and schedule support while upholding ESI’s standards for safety and quality. The program combines on‑the‑job training with structured instruction led by experienced field leadership, providing exposure to construction fundamentals, drawings, RFIs, site layout, materials management, and jobsite leadership. Must be approved, or be able to attain approval, for a 60‑90 day minimum SkillBridge opportunity. Demonstrate leadership, integrity, perseverance, reliability, respect, self‑discipline, dedication, and dependability. Possess organizational skills and be detail‑oriented. Demonstrate personal motivation, initiative, and potential for growth. Can work independently with minimal supervision and limited direction. Show an aptitude for management and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Maintain a high level of confidentiality. Have limited knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs; specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project. Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, whether individually or in a team environment, is vital to the role. Adhere to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, are necessary for performing work safely and effectively. Working Conditions Fast‑paced working environment. Working environment may be busy and noisy. This position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions. This role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations. The work environment noise level is usually loud. Physical Demands This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle. The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises. The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50 lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily.
