POSITION SUMMARY

Contributes to the efficient daily operation of the Housekeeping activities by maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas of the facility, in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and deodorizes floors.
• Removes and disposes of trash; dumps and cleans ashtrays; sanitizes trash cans.
• Replaces dirty linens and towels with clean items; makes beds and folds towels.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and restocks bathrooms.
• Replaces guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
• Washes or dusts walls, pillars, vents and other washable areas.
• Cleans, shampoos, and extracts spills or biological excretion from carpet, when necessary.
• Picks up paper and other trash from the floor and between customers and machines; sanitizes as needed.
• Cleans inside and outside of windows.
• Familiarizes self with the day’s activities and special events at the beginning of the shift,
• Abides by all attendance policies and procedures.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as directed.
• Reports accidents involving guests, employees, or company assets in an immediate manner.
• Reports any possible problems or unusual circumstances to Supervisor or Security.
• Provides excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times.
• Builds and fosters effective working relationships with others.
• Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Goals, objectives, functions, policies, and procedures of Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.
• Materials, methods, and equipment used in cleaning guestrooms and public areas.
• Occupational hazards and safety practices and procedures.

• The safe use of cleaning tools and equipment, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants.
• Basic repair work of housekeeping equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
• Tribal and Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
  

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to submit supporting documentation of education and training to support qualifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, touch, or grasp; talk or hear; and reach with hands or arms. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed regularly to hazardous materials, dust, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, and/or second-hand smoke; and to hostile, offensive, or violent individuals. Work may occasionally require the use of protective clothing, equipment, devices, and / or materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in a hotel and/or casino setting with a moderate, and occasionally high, noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
