If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are passionate about building a world-class leading science and technology organization – we invite you to read on!The Immediate Focus of This Role:This position is part of the Diagnostics US Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department and reports to the EHS Manager responsible for the safety of our Hebron Manufacturing and Distribution Center associates. The position is located in Hebron, Kentucky and will be onsite daily and will primarily focus on conducting risk assessments on processes, equipment, and chemicals, identifying compliance concerns, program non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Identify opportunities to minimize risks and prevent workplace injuries; strategically work with cross-functional teams to improve culture, drive projects, and support continuous improvement initiativesLead thorough incident investigations, root cause analysis and after-action reviews; effectively communicating/influencing process owners to develop and implement sustainable corrective actions and engineering controls as neededDrive the site environmental programs, such as waste, storage tanks and stormwater pollution, including hands-on involvement and ensuring full compliance with EPA requirementsConduct comprehensive EHS audits, self-assessments, inspections and deliver engaging training on corporate EHS standards and initiatives to ensure workplace conditions comply with internal policies, program requirements and applicable local, state, and national regulationsContribute to the site's sustainability goals by actively seeking and implementing innovative waste minimization strategies and resource conservation initiatives.The essential requirements of the job include:Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health, or related discipline with 5+ years' experience ORMaster’s degree in field with 3+ years' experienceDemonstrated working knowledge of federal/state regulatory requirements or equivalent regulations in the safety and environmental discipline such as: RCRA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. and a proven capability to learn and adapt to evolving regulationsExperience in ISO regulated manufacturing industry or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment,Proven ability to effectively communicate EHS requirements and potential risks to diverse stakeholders, ensuring understanding and fostering a culture of safety.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and/or DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper certifications.Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) first responder operations level.Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
