Service Manager

Tapori — the Mumbai street food concept from the team behind Michelin Bib Gourmand–recognized Daru — is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Service Manager to lead our front-of-house team. Our kitchen is helmed by Chef Suresh Sundas, a James Beard Award Finalist for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic , bringing bold, vibrant Mumbai street food to the H Street corridor of Washington D.C.

Located at 600 H Street NE, Tapori is a lively, fast-paced celebration of India's street food culture. Our hospitality brand is rooted in warmth and genuine connection — we seek someone who ensures every guest feels authentically welcomed, cared for, and at home from the moment they walk in.

We are looking for a leader with a genuine interest in food, beverage, and culture, who can uphold the highest standards of service while developing and inspiring a team.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing daily front-of-house operations across service
• Leading, training, and mentoring servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
• Maintaining service standards, steps of service, and floor flow during service
• Managing guest relations and resolving guest concerns with grace
• Partnering with kitchen and bar leadership to ensure seamless coordination
• Handling scheduling, staffing, and labor management
• Supporting inventory, ordering, and cost control for FOH
• Upholding health, safety, and cleanliness standards

Qualifications include:

• Minimum 1 year of restaurant management experience in a fine dining setting
• Strong knowledge of service techniques, food, and beverage
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and detail-oriented under pressure
• Genuine passion for hospitality, food, and beverage culture
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary $60,000–$65,000 annually
• Bonus opportunities
