Production Technician

Location: Rockport, INCleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works, has immediate opportunities for Production Technicians in the Shipping Department. The Production Technician is responsible for inspecting packaging, receiving, and loading material for shipment by truck or rail.Summary of Responsibilities:Visual inspection of material on arrival into department for damagePackage material according to specifications on the orderMaintain accurate inventory locationsEnsure storage facilities maintain the quality of productCorrect identification and storage of all inbound materialLoad all outbound material, rail or truck, correctly and according to loading specifications suppliedOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Previous manufacturing experience or ability to demonstrate understanding for material flow and proper handling of Work in Process inventoriesMust be willing and able to work rotating 4 on 4 off (12 hour) work schedule (days/nights/weekends/holidays)Must be willing and able to work in various environments including indoor atmosphere controlled and outside slag-based fieldsStrong work ethic, stellar attendance record, attention to detailApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPreferred Qualifications:Computer skills and hands on experience with information systems is needed to perform job functions in a timely and efficient mannerHigh School diploma/GEDCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
