Payment Processor

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has an immediate need for a payment processor with a financial services organzation near the Bloomington area!

• Pay: $23-$25/hr
• Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
• Onsite Only
• ASAP Start

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily payments , including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card transactions
• Apply payments to customer accounts and ensure accurate posting and allocation
• Reconcile payment transactions with bank statements and internal records
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, errors, and rejected transactions
• Maintain accurate records of all payment activity for audit and reporting purposes
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Accounting teams to ensure proper cash application
• Prepare and maintain daily cash reports and payment summaries
• Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
• Support continuous improvement of payment processing workflows and systems

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in payment processing, accounts receivable, or similar role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
• Familiarity with payment methods (ACH, wires, credit cards, checks)
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
