Senior Systems Engineer

Red Arch Solutions is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer on a priority program in Annapolis Junction, MD. The System Engineer shall be responsible for requirements engineering, integration planning, lifecycle management, and technical risk/issue mitigation across complex mission focused systems. The position requires strong Linux CLI expertise and deep Jira Service Desk administration experience, with responsibility for driving cross‑stakeholder alignment, maintaining disciplined configuration and change control, and producing clear, comprehensive technical documentation. Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are essential for guiding technical decisions and ensuring successful system delivery.Position Required Skills:Demonstrated proficiency navigating Linux systems using the Linux CLIExperience eliciting, analyzing, validating, and documenting technical and functional requirements to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs and align with mission objectivesExperience developing detailed integration strategies, coordinating cross team dependencies, and overseeing system integration activities to ensure seamless interoperability across componentsExperience at identifying potential risks, evaluating impacts, creating mitigation plans, and tracking issues through resolution to maintain system stabilityProficient in maintaining disciplined configuration baselines, documenting changes, enforcing version control processes, and ensuring all modifications follow established governance proceduresStrong ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non‑technical stakeholders, facilitating clear communication, alignment, and timely decision‑making throughout the project lifecycleExperienced in defining system lifecycle strategies, including development, deployment, maintenance, enhancement, and decommissioning phases to support long term program sustainabilityProduces clear, comprehensive, and well-structured technical documentation, including diagrams, procedures, how-to guides, and reports that support engineering, operations, and compliance needsHands‑on expertise designing, configuring, and maintaining Jira Service Desk projects, workflows, automation, permissions, and custom fields to optimize service delivery and operational efficiencyExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail Position Desired Skills:Experience with Git Source Control SystemBasic Qualifications:Active TS/SCI with polygraphTwenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
