We are seeking a Field Equipment Engineer with strong mechanical engineering and hands-on automation experience to install, troubleshoot, service, and support custom automated equipment at customer sites and within engineering facilities. Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical automation equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and identify root causes.
- Perform mechanical adjustments, repairs, retrofits, and equipment upgrades.
- Provide technical support and training to customers.
- Read engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
- Create or modify drawings, sketches, and BOMs using AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS .
- Support system integration and debugging with engineering, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams.
- Perform mechanical calculations involving forces, loads, speeds, and strength of materials.
- Prepare detailed service and technical reports.
- Recommend improvements, replacement parts, and equipment enhancements.
- Support project teams during equipment build and integration phases.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
- 7-10+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical automation, custom machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, drives, and structural components.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems in field environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS .
- Ability to use common hand tools, machine tools, and testing equipment.
- Strong communication and customer-interaction skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, typically 50-60% annually , including domestic and international travel.
