They will be responsible for carrying out health care tasks and provide assistance with personal hygiene, housekeeping, and other supportive tasks to a patient. ResponsibilitiesAssist with personal care, such as bathing, grooming, moving from one area to another, eating, dressing, laundry and overall hygieneSupport mobility, Safe transfers and ambulation assistance, and positioningPrepare meals and assist with feedingCommunicate clearly and effectively with clients regarding their care, daily needs, and any changes in conditionProvide companionship and emotional supportPerform light housekeeping related to the patients care such as making bed, dish washing, etcRemind clients about medications, as permitted by care plansMonitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive conditionComplete required documentation accurately and on timeFollow care plans, agency policies, infection-control procedures, and HIPAA regulations.Maintain documentationContact respective individuals for requests outside of approved tasks or care planReport changes in the patient's condition to the supervising nurseIn addition, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, HHAs perform basic health-related tasks, including:Taking and recording temperature, pulse, and respirationAssisting with prescribed exercises and skin careAssisting with simple, non-sterile dressing changes on stable wounds, as directedPerforming simple urine testing and recording resultsPreparing modified diets as prescribed by a physician Qualifications RequiredActive, New York State, 75-hour, Home Health Aide (HHA) certification, or willing to get certified in NYS (People Care will train you- must already have your PCA certification)Ability to assist clients safely with activities of daily living (ADLs)Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this positionAbility to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 40 lbs and perform physical caregiving tasks throughout the shiftAbility to travel to client homes within assigned service areas (throughout NYS)This role requires compliance with NYS health and safety regulations for home health aidesRequired to maintain training, competency and annual Inservice education PreferredExperience in home care, senior care, personal care, companion care, or caregivingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Apply Today: Applicants can apply via: OR OR Email: View email address on click.appcast.io Start a rewarding career where your compassion makes a difference every day.
