Experienced Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Water/Wastewater

S.J. Louis Construction of Texas’ Mansfield office (DFW Area) is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with minimum 2+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible with assisting the operations team (construction managers, project managers, superintendents) in the construction of water transmission and wastewater interceptor type municipal project.
• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC our projects for owners/ engineers.
• In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design/ planning, and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members.
• Subcontracts and PO’s for materials/ scopes needed on project.
• Collaborate with team (owners, engineers, vendors, subs, etc.) to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
• Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others.
• RFI’s, daily reports, shop drawing review, take-offs
• Assisting team with preparation of estimating bids/ proposals (CSP’s, etc.) and presentations/ evaluated proposals.
• Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of tasks and will receive on-the-job as well as mentorship and exposure to project management, project financials, and client interactions.
• Cost estimates/ evaluations and risk evaluation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant municipal water/ wastewater engineering design experience
• Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Experience with designing pipelines, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling calculation
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Communicating technical thoughts clearly and concisely
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team
