Position Description: Solventless Lab TechnicianPosition DescriptionThe Solventless Lab Technician is responsible for performing production activities within the Solventless Lab department in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment. This position operates specialized solventless processing equipment in refrigerated processing environments, prepares and processes fresh frozen cannabis material, collects, processes and packages solventless products, and maintains production equipment and work areas in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.Essential FunctionsOperates various manufacturing and processing equipment within the Solventless Lab including:•\tOperate solventless processing equipment according to established procedures•\tLoad and unload fresh frozen cannabis material for solventless extraction processes•\tCollect, handle, and transfer cannabis material while maintaining product quality and traceability•\tPerform production activities in refrigerated processing environments for extended periods while maintaining productivity, quality standards, and compliance with all procedures•\tSafely handle and unload wet cannabis material from processing equipment utilizing proper lifting techniques •\tAssist with material preparation and other solventless production activities as required to meet daily production objectives•\tSupport other departments as needed to meet production schedule, operational priorities, and overall business objectives•\tClean, sanitize, and maintain production equipment, tools, utensils, and work areas in accordance with sanitation schedules and SOPs•\tMaintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives•\tDocument all production, cleaning, and equipment activities in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)•\tComplete production records, equipment logbooks, cleaning logs, and other required documentation accurately and legibly•\tMonitor equipment performance and promptly report maintenance needs or operational concerns to the Solventless Lab Manager•\tMaintain manufacturing and facility spaces in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition•\tUtilize the Company’s seed-to-sale tracking system and other regulatory databases as required•\tCommunicate effectively with the Solventless Lab Manager, Supervisor, and Solventless Production team to ensure efficient workflow and production goals are achieved•\tMaintain personal training status and records consistent with company policies and proceduresCompetencies1. Initiative.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet working conditions and cold temperatures associated with processing areas, and vibration from manufacturing equipment. This position requires working in moderately cold environments for extended periods. This noise in the production environment can be moderate to loud. Employees are expected to maintain a strict adherence to all safety, sanitation, and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements while performing their duties. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime and weekend work is usually expected on as needed basisTravel No travel is expected for this position.Required Education and Experience•\tHigh School Diploma or equivalent required with some technical training.•\tPrevious manufacturing experience with 2 years minimum experience in a commercially licensed cannabis production/extraction facility, food manufacturing and/or packaging, pharmaceutical or other cGMP manufacturing and/or packaging, chemical processing and/or laboratory environment.Must be at least 21 years old. Additional Eligibility Qualifications•\tAbility to perform general mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.•\tAttention to detail in all aspects of job responsibilities, including but not limited to good documentation practices, strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure and Manufacturing Batch Record instructions, equipment and area hygiene and safety, cGMP gowning requirements adherence, release versus quarantine status of all manufacturing materials, general labeling requirements.•\tAccurately and precisely operate laboratory scales and other simple but precision measurement devices.•\tThe ability to professionally represent Sunburn in all personnel interactions including those associated with regulatory agency inspection and/or audits.•\tThe ability to perform all job functions in direct compliance with written instruction.•\tThe ability to quickly comprehend the set-up, operation, controls and trouble-shooting of equipment.•\tRegular and on-time attendance is mandated and is an essential function of this position.Work Authorization/Security Clearance•\tThere is no visa or H1-B sponsorship.
