Speech and Debate Program Coordinator

Carney, Sandoe & Associates , an educational recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Speech and Debate Program Coordinator starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Andover, MA.

Speech and Debate Program Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Teach speech and debate courses for middle school students.
• Provide feedback that helps students refine their logic, evidence-based argumentation and delivery/presentation skills.
• Collaborate with faculty to incorporate public speaking activities into school curriculum.
• Organize school events where students can showcase their public speaking skills
• Serve as head coach for competitive speech team and lead practices/training sessions for students.
• Build strong relationships through clear and consistent communication with families, students, and colleagues, including timely updates on student progress and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication
• Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices and remain current with trends in the field.

Speech and Debate Program Coordinator Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of previous classroom teaching experience preferably for middle or upper school students.
• Previous coaching experience for speech and debate preferred.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Independent school experience preferred.
