Structural Engineer

We’re looking for a Structural Engineer to join the Transportation team at HMB, located in Murfreesboro, TN. In this role you will design transportation‑related structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls using reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber. Key Responsibilities Design transportation‑related structures, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements. Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting, and review. Collaborate with the structures group, other disciplines, and clients to complete projects. Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes. Develop engineering cost estimates. Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise BS or MS in Civil Engineering. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer. Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls. 5+ years of experience in structural design. Project and/or client management experience is preferred. Ability to guide junior staff and participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency with CADD software (preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD). Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS).
