Position Overview

\n

We are seeking an experienced management-side Employment attorney with 8+ years of significant employment experience to join our New Jersey office as Of Counsel. The ideal candidate will have substantial management-side counseling experience and employment litigation experience. This is not a pure litigation role. We are looking for an attorney who can advise employers on a broad range of employment matters, provide practical business-focused guidance, assess risk, in addition to litigation.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Advise employers and management on a broad range of employment matters, including human resource support, employee complaints, employee misconduct, employee discipline, on and off boarding, terminations, workplace policies, accommodations, leaves, and compliance.
\n
• Advise clients on wage and hour matters, including employee classification, and compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
\n
• Counsel clients regarding trade secrets, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, and other employment-related protections.
\n
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, and related documents.
\n
• Defend employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and other employment claims.
\n
• Prosecute or defend clients in Trade Secret Matters involving employee misappropriation and restrictive covenant violations.
\n
• Represent employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC.
\n
• Work collaboratively with clients and attorneys across the firm to provide practical and effective employment advice.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
\n
• 8+ years of employment experience.
\n
• Substantial employer-side employment counseling experience required.
\n
• Meaningful employment litigation experience required.
\n
• Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
\n
• Excellent judgment and ability to work independently.
\n
• New Jersey and New York Bar admission required; candidates admitted only in New Jersey must be eligible and commit to seek admission to the New York Bar.
\n
• Experience with restrictive covenant drafting and enforcement, and wage and hour requirements.
\n
• Experience with trade secret claims, representing clients involved in Department of Labor audits, conducting workplace investigations or traditional labor matters is a plus.

Compensation

\n

The anticipated salary range for this position is $240-000-$280,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
