Superintendent - Commercial Interiors

Job Description

️ Superintendent | Commercial Interiors | NYC General Contractor (Full-Time)

\n

\n

New York City, NY · On-Site · $130,000 to $180,000 + Benefits + Project-Based Incentives

\n

\n

Run the jobs people actually see.

\n

\n

A well-established NYC General Contractor (nearly four decades in business, family-run, and still growing) is looking for a Superintendent to take full field ownership of its next wave of projects. The portfolio spans high-profile interiors across commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional work, with some ground-up too, though interiors are the core. This is a 100+ person GC/CM known for precision delivery and long-term repeat clients, with a steady, interior-focused pipeline.

\n

\n

The work is fast-moving, design-led interior construction, the kind of project where finish quality and sequencing actually matter, and where you’ll see your work featured, not buried behind a facade.

\n

\n

️ The projects you’ll run

\n

Corporate office fit-outs and full-floor renovations for name-brand tenants

\n

️ Retail flagship builds to exacting design and millwork standards

\n

️ Hospitality: restaurants, bars, and venues with tight sequencing and high finish demands

\n

Healthcare and institutional interiors requiring precision coordination

\n

Renovation and base-build work where interior coordination makes or breaks the schedule

\n

\n

What we’re looking for

\n

\n
• Experience running commercial interior fit-outs, tenant improvements, or high-spec renovations as a Superintendent
\n
• A background with a GC, CM, or developer-side construction team in NYC
\n
• Comfort with fast-track sequencing, MEP coordination, and finish-intensive delivery
\n
• Working knowledge of NYC DOB requirements and inspections (DOB Superintendent License a plus, not a dealbreaker; they’ll support the right person through it)
\n
• A field leader trades want to work for, someone who sets the standard and keeps a job moving without cutting corners
\n

\n

\n

What the role looks like

\n

\n
• Own field operations from mobilization through final turnover
\n
• Drive sequencing, logistics, safety, and quality on fast-moving interior projects
\n
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel day to day
\n
• Manage MEP rough-in, finishes, and commissioning against tight schedules
\n
• Work directly with PMs, design teams, clients, and building management, so you’re never out of the loop
\n
• Handle permits and DOB compliance without losing momentum
\n
• Lead punch list, closeout, and handover to a consistently high standard
\n

\n

\n

⭐ Why this role stands out

\n

\n
• ️ Nearly four decades in NYC, family-run, and still growing: real stability in an industry that doesn’t always offer it
\n
• A broad, steady pipeline across office, retail, hospitality, and healthcare (plus some ground-up), so there’s no downtime between projects
\n
• A genuine project-team model (Account Exec, Estimator, PM, Assistant PM, and Super), so you’re never carrying a job alone
\n
• A real safety and quality culture: weekly toolbox meetings, daily trade reviews, and daily quality checks built into how they work, not bolted on
\n
• Modern field tools (Procore and digital daily logs), so less paperwork and more building
\n
• Genuine on-site autonomy: this contractor trusts its Supers to run their jobs
\n
• A real path into Senior Superintendent or project leadership as the company grows
\n
