Location MO-SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles Worker Type PRN Job Highlights Schedule: PRN as needed Pay Range starts at: $37/hour. Daily pay available. Shift Differentials: night, weekend, and additional shifts available. Requirements: Completion of a Sonography program and two or more registries in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Echo, or Vascular. Job Summary Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structures, providing quality images for interpretation. Requires a registered sonographer with two or more registries appropriate for the department(s) in which the sonographer works (e.g., ABD/OB, ABD/MSK, ABD/BR, OB/FE). Primary Responsibilities Utilize second registry in primary or secondary department 30% of the time. Set up and operate all equipment and manually maneuver transducers during exams. Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures. Perform routine and complex studies and assist with a variety of imaging procedures. Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report issues or malfunctions. Submit all high‑quality images and documentation promptly to PACS, ensuring correct labeling and patient data. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Work in a constant state of alertness and safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Completion of a Sonography program. Experience No prior experience required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near and far distances. Frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate information verbally. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent lifting and moving of patients. Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting.
