Description:

Primarily focused on ICU, with the possibility to float to CVICU. There may also be a potential to float to Med/Surg Tele units if there is an operational need and low census. CVICU experience required.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process effectively in patient care by ensuring relevant, accurate, and current patient records.
• Provide documentation of comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
• Initiate and communicate care plans with allied patient care providers.
• Assume and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computerized nursing informatics (information systems).
• Serve as a resource person for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching.
• Participate in evaluating care, monitoring quality and appropriateness.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, particularly concerning blood/body fluids.
• Assess and document personal and professional development needs, maintaining knowledge of techniques and regulations.
• Represent the hospital favorably within the community while maintaining confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Graduate of a School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Prior critical care experience required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Completion of CCHC Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Preferred: Certification in De-escalation, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR).
• Preferred: Demonstrated skills in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator care, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
