GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGER, SEMICONDUCTOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP)RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for development and management of SpaceX’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio (patents, trademarks, trade secrets around business products and technologies in support of the business strategy) as it pertains to semiconductor manufacturingWork closely with engineering teams to identify and assess competitive patent, trademark and trade secret assets, and impact on desired business outcomesWork closely with SpaceX legal counsel to ensure proper IP rights are acquired for specific manufacturing processesAssess cost and risk of IP for various manufacturing strategies and advise leadership on the strategies that should be pursued and avoidedPrepare and maintain applicable IP contract forms and/or clausesCreate playbooks and training materials for IP strategy development on future manufacturing processesEngage and negotiate directly with vendors for purchase or license of IPDevelop and negotiate complex technical transactions, including development and supply agreements for equipment and joint developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:2+ years of experience in manufacturing3+ years of experience in semiconductor industry2+ years of experience working with senior executives of semiconductor industry1+ years of governmental regulation as it relates to the semiconductor industryPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited programMaster of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent master's degreeExperience with varied and complex intellectual property mattersExcellent academic record at a top-tier law schoolSignificant knowledge of and experience with establishing and managing global intellectual property programsFamiliarity with technology and the ability to interact with highly technical engineersExperience structuring and leading negotiation of intellectual property transactions in various technology areas ranging from physical goods to software licenses, and exposure to prosecuting and enforcing various IP rightsA team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, make complex cost/benefit assessments, and identify pragmatic/creative legal and business solutionsAbility to work both autonomously and collaboratively and to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environmentA quick and flexible learner, who is intellectually curiousADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredMust be able to work extended hours and weekends as neededITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
