Trident Consulting is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect for one of our clients in Dallas, TX, a global leader in medical technology and pharmaceutical Industry. Title: Senior Cloud Architect — Akamai, AWS & Azure Front Door Location: Malvern, PA or Dallas, TX- 3 days Hybrid onsite Duration: 5 months Type: Contract
We are seeking a Senior Cloud & Edge Architect with strong hands-on expertise in Akamai, AWS, and Azure Front Door to design, implement, and optimize secure, high-performance, globally distributed digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CDN/edge architecture, cloud networking, edge security, Infrastructure as Code, and multi-cloud environments. Experience with AEM or other CMS platforms is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable multi-cloud edge architectures using Akamai, AWS, and Azure Front Door.
- Define global traffic management, failover, caching, and origin-protection strategies.
- Architect secure, highly available AWS and Azure environments.
- Configure and manage Akamai CDN, WAF, Bot Manager, DDoS protection, EdgeWorkers, and Property Manager/Property Rules.
- Design and implement Azure Front Door Standard/Premium, including routing, WAF, caching, custom domains, and traffic management.
- Architect AWS services including VPC, ALB/NLB, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and IAM.
- Architect Azure networking and compute including VNets, Application Gateway, AKS, App Services, Storage, and Azure AD/Entra ID.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep.
- Implement SSL/TLS, zero-trust, origin shielding, identity/access controls, and secure cloud networking.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize CDN, cloud, network, and application performance.
- Integrate cloud/CDN configurations with CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor engineers and conduct architecture and code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application, security, and infrastructure teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of cloud, infrastructure, CDN, or edge architecture experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Akamai CDN and security solutions.
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture and networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Front Door and Azure networking.
- Strong understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS, caching, traffic management, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps automation.
- Experience designing highly available, secure, globally distributed platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- AEM or other CMS experience behind CDN/edge platforms.
- Docker/Kubernetes.
- Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architecture.
- CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Splunk, or similar observability platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
