Learning and Development Manager, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

Locations and Compensation On-site, campuses include Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX. Salary is $150,000/year (W2), paid weekly, with day‑one health benefits. Relocation support is available. Responsibilities Facilitate one‑hour live workshops on life skills (public speaking, focus, giving and receiving feedback) for K‑8 cohorts, executing Alpha’s playbook rather than creating content independently. Conduct motivation sessions using student data and Alpha’s incentive framework (school currency, leaderboards) to achieve 100% student goal attainment. Develop Guides on program adherence and standards maintenance, providing concrete improvement steps in each session. Manage your own student cohort while simultaneously training other Guides. Monitor student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide performance indicators weekly to identify underperformance early. What You Won’t Be Doing Deliver lectures or provide academic tutoring to students. Create curriculum or develop original lesson plans. Train Guides on instructional methods. Grant exceptions when a student reaches 99% rather than 100%. Serve as an “empathy champion” common in traditional schools. Key Responsibilities Deliver Alpha’s three commitments to every student in your cohort: they love school, learn twice as fast as a traditional classroom, and develop real‑life skills. Basic Requirements Willing to work on‑campus at the listed locations (relocation support provided). Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or a comparable field. Track record of leading a team of 5 or more adults, including hiring and making performance‑based termination decisions. Direct experience working with kids aged 5‑14 in an educational or developmental setting. Built, launched, or significantly grew a program, team, business, school, or initiative from the ground up. Proven use of data and metrics to set weekly goals and drive decisions, not just report results. Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Coached athletics, led wilderness or experiential programs, directed camps, or ran youth ministry at a scale that required running cohorts and measuring outcomes. Left classroom teaching to build or run programs from a different seat: EdTech, tutoring businesses, youth nonprofits, or school intervention teams. Early‑career track record of high personal performance—academic, athletic, or professional—before moving into leadership. Belief that the current education system is broken and personal investment in rebuilding it. Working with Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position available immediately. The role requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is weekly. Consult for more details.
