Childcare Supervisor

Under the direction of a principal or designee, supervise activities of students or children during assigned hours at assigned locations. May also provide childcare coverage during breaks for paraeducators and/or during school activities.

Representative job duties include: 1. Supervising students in an assigned area, guiding their routine activities of eating, playing and other functions; monitoring and controlling behavior of students according to approved procedures; reporting student behavior to teacher(s); administrator and/or assigned staff. 2. Assisting with light cleaning after the student's lunch and/or student activities. 3. Supervising students at play, directing play activities and the use of play equipment; reporting cases of unusual behavior or other problems to appropriate teacher or site manager; preventing children from engaging in unsafe activities; ensuring student safety in the crosswalks. 4. Assisting in establishing and maintaining an environment that stimulates growth of desirable social, emotional and health habits; observing and reporting safety hazards. 5. Assisting students by providing proper emotional and behavior support, promoting a friendly attitude, positive school climate and general guidance. 6. Monitoring compliance of site safety procedures. 7. May supervise children while their parents are attending classes or workshops. 8. May supervise children while school staff is on a break. 9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience: Minimum six (6) months experience working with students.
