Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Weekend availability is required.

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients during labor and childbirth. The nurse will assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, support breastfeeding, administer medications, and conduct assessments per protocols. The RN will float within the unit and may need to assist in post-partum care as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and perform sterile vaginal exams.
• Provide support for mothers during labor and education postpartum.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic charting system.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must possess a valid RN license in California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
• Minimum one year of labor and delivery experience preferred.
• Travel experience preferred but first-timers accepted.
