Real Estate Claims Manager

$150k
Full-time

Pursuit

My client, a premier unclaimed assets recovery firm that has recovered more than $1 billion for clients since 2000, is seeking a Claims Manager to own the full lifecycle of high-value claims tied to real estate surplus funds.

If you're a strong commission salesperson who thinks like an investigator — someone who already understands that signing the client is only the beginning of the transaction — this is a rare opportunity to build a career in a niche, high-reward industry.

Position is based in-office 5 days a week in Modesto, CA (1120 13th St A, Modesto, CA 95354), with minimal travel — mostly local, with occasional overnights only for reps chasing hard-to-reach contacts. Remote candidates with the right background will also be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Year 1 On-Target Earnings: $150K
  • Commission: 10% on cumulative annual net profit up to $1,250,000; 15% from $1,250,001–$1,750,000; 20% above $1,750,000 — paid in addition to guaranteed salary
  • At-plan earnings: $150K+
  • Top reps earning: $400K+
  • Full benefits package + 401(k)
  • Average employee tenure of 10+ years

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contacting heirs, former property owners, and lienholders entitled to surplus funds from county property sales, foreclosures, and auctions
  • Researching claimants, properties, and entities through public records, databases, and online tools to untangle the chain of entitlement
  • Building trust with skeptical strangers and closing signed client agreements
  • Coordinating with title companies and attorneys, including court actions when needed
  • Managing each file from first contact through final collection — juggling multiple active matters at once

Background Requirements

Local (Modesto) candidates:

  • Experienced commission salesperson

Priority Local Backgrounds

  • Mortgage lending and banking
  • Insurance sales, claims, adjusting, or investigation
  • Title and escrow; foreclosure/default servicing
  • Private investigation, fraud investigation, skip tracing, or asset investigation
  • Legal support, probate, and real estate legal work
  • Sophisticated collections and financial recovery
  • Other transaction-heavy commission sales

We're especially interested in people who understand documents, ownership, loans, liens, deadlines, negotiation, and how to move a transaction from start to finish. Traditional residential Realtors whose experience is primarily listing and showing homes are not a priority background.

Not a Fit If You're Coming From

  • A real estate license or general residential real estate background alone
  • A high-volume, scripted call center environment
  • Strong sales numbers but little experience managing a deal after the close
