About the Team The Hermès San Diego Boutique opened in 1972 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as part of the Western Region. The Asset Protection Department is responsible for the safety and security of all Hermès employees, premises, and product. This position reports to the Senior Regional Asset Protection Manager and works primarily within the San Diego store. Opportunity The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for enforcement and protection of all company interests and assets. Company assets are defined as merchandise, money, technical equipment, supplies, fixtures, store dwellings (owned or leased), personnel, and customers. All other duties are assigned by the supervisor. Responsibilities Post coverage – stock security Associate compliance and education (AP Awareness) Violation and incident reporting Conducting audits and maintaining proper records Managing outsourced guards Ensuring associate compliance with company policy and procedure regarding asset protection guidelines (e.g., no more than 2 items shown to a client at a time; associates do not leave keys in drawer or leave drawer open; all packages leaving premises are accompanied by proper paperwork) Conduct routine inspections of the facility to maintain physical security and protect assets Complete required audits and inspections and provide accurate documentation of results Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to local management Ensure physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors; enforce policy and procedure Monthly touch base with APM and APA’s to review training and outstanding concerns Monthly maintenance of all AP‑related documents Report theft to APM and interact with local law enforcement Review Cegid reports daily with APM (negatives, voids, returns, quota items) Supervise all off‑site sales – public and employee Partner with floor management in the absence of APM Key audits and management Review safe logs Qualifications 1–3 years of asset protection or retail experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent 8‑hour pre‑assignment and 16‑hour OTJ certificates / security license (mandatory in NYC only) Strong written and verbal communication skills Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Ability to stand for extended periods and handle merchandise, which entails lifting Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job Adaptability Credibility and trust Service orientation Results‑driven attitude We are looking for a candidate that has a combination of the above attributes and can perform the key functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations. Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $25.50 to $27.00. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
