Speech Language PATHOLOGISTS (School Based)

Job Description
Speech Language Pathologists (School Based) play a crucial role in supporting students with various communication disorders including articulation, language delays, fluency, and voice disorders. Working primarily in classroom and therapy room settings, these professionals manage caseloads of 35+ students, providing both individual and group therapy. They collaborate closely with educators and families to develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and advocate for student communication needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to student needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy accordingly
- Consult with parents to support therapy goals at home
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate communication strategies in the classroom
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services
- Coordinate referrals for additional evaluations or services as needed
- Advocate for students’ communication needs within the school system
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- State Speech-Language Pathology License
- Experience in speech therapy and language assessment
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication methods
- Understanding of child development and communication disorders
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent time management skills
