Quality Assurance Manager

Basic FunctionThis position is responsible for the continual development, implementation, and monitoring of processes so that the safe use and consumption of premix can occur while meeting various customer, state, and federal standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinalize the content of the Quality Assurance Manual consisting of (but not limited to): Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and CGMPsFood Safety PlanSpecific customer and regulatory requestsVarious logs and forms pertaining to SOPsReview and implement HACCP plan and coordinate in Food Safety PlanParticipate in document retention programMaintain all food safety credentials required by FDA and SQFMaintain SQF certifications at both manufacturing plants with teamOversee and be actively involved with approving ingredients for manufacturingPlan, conduct, and monitor inspection of ingredients to ensure finished product qualityOversee and actively verify vendors and manufacturersObtain working knowledge of formulations and be proficient as a back-upPerform mock product recalls once a yearPerform the necessary duties and establish CGMPs to maintain EPA blending protocols for fly control products.Perform annual reporting tasks such as the Toxic Release Ingredient upload to the EPAOversee and actively coordinate product sample analysis and retention programsCompile laboratory results and maintain for regulators as neededMonitor pests with pest control contractors and team membersPerform lead duties during third party and regulatory auditsInvestigate customer complaintsDevelop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventative actionsCollaborate with the quality assurance teams at Western Milling as neededEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of quality assurance experience.Two or four year college degree in a technical field.Previous experience in manufacturing food or animal feed is a plus.SkillsDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Access)Knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, costs, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products.Must be self-motivated, dependable, honest and thorough. A versatile self-starter with a positive attitude who is cautiously assertive.Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.Strong project management, organizational, and communications skills are required.Thorough in completing tasks and focused on quality output with attention to detail.Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external customers and effectively communicate information and ideas (written and verbal) so others comprehend.Physical RequirementsEmployee is required to frequently sit, stand, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead and bend to the floor.EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.The employee will be occasionally exposed to dusty and noisy conditionsThe employee will be subject to an office environment approximately 80% of the time.Compensation MinUSD $0.00/Yr.Compensation MaxUSD $0.00/Yr.
