Your Role in Our Story as a Store Manager

Provide exceptional customer service throughout all areas of GIANT Stores while ensuring operational excellence, food safety, financial performance, merchandising execution, talent development, regulatory compliance, and overall store standards. Lead store operations by managing personnel, supporting company initiatives, maintaining high-quality product standards, and representing the GIANT brand within the store and community while supporting the company's core business strategies.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like as a Store Manager

• Provide quality customer service in every position within GIANT Stores.
• Serve customers, including consumers, co-workers, vendors, and business associates, ensuring internal customers receive the same level of care and attention as external customers.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures that maintain the highest standards of food safety and associate hygiene, including internal and external inspections, food recalls, general sanitation, and associate training.
• Act as a company representative within the store and community to develop and promote GIANT's brand image while supporting and understanding the company's core strategies.
• Manage all financial metrics to achieve budgeted targets, including sales growth, margin, shrink, labor, expenses, inventory on hand, and operating income.
• Maintain the highest quality standards for perishable products, ensuring compliance with freshness and code-dating requirements.
• Oversee and maintain all department operating conditions across both perishable and non-perishable areas.
• Support and execute the weekly company advertisement and all merchandising programs.
• Plan, organize, direct, and oversee store operations through effective delegation of duties to assistant managers and department managers.
• Maximize the utilization of store personnel through effective scheduling, coaching, performance evaluations, training and development programs, motivation, and supervision.
• Lead the staffing, training, and development of all store personnel, including both direct and indirect reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.
• Manage and maintain a housekeeping program that promotes a clean, organized, and customer-friendly store environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree is preferred but not required.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the supermarket industry, including successful participation in a management training program.

Specialized Knowledge

• Working knowledge of all aspects of store management and operations, with the ability to make sound business decisions and provide effective leadership.

Skills

• Strong communication, leadership, and management skills.
