Special Inspector-ICC Reinforced Concrete

Special Inspector-ICC Reinforced ConcreteWe are seeking an ICC Certified Special Inspector to perform special inspections on commercial, industrial, and public works construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and inspection procedures, with required certification in Reinforced Concrete and additional ICC certifications highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesPerform special inspections in accordance with approved plans, specifications, building codes, and ICC requirements.Inspect reinforced concrete construction and related structural systems for compliance with project requirements.Conduct inspections of structural masonry, post-tensioned concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, bolting, and welding as certified.Read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable code requirements.Document inspection activities and prepare clear, accurate field reports and project documentation.Maintain complete and organized project files, including reports, field notes, correspondence, RFIs, and supporting records.Communicate inspection findings and project updates with project managers, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.Identify and document non-conforming work and verify corrective actions when required.Perform inspections in accordance with company quality standards and safety procedures.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience performing special inspections, construction inspection, or related quality assurance/quality control work.Thorough understanding of construction materials, structural systems, and applicable building codes.Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments.Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.Required CertificationICC Reinforced Concrete Special InspectorPreferred CertificationsICC Structural Masonry Special InspectorICC Post-Tensioned Concrete Special InspectorICC Prestressed Concrete Special InspectorICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special InspectorICC Structural Steel Welding Special InspectorAdditional ICC, AWS, ACI, or related construction inspection certifications are a plus.Salary range: $28-32/hour, depending on qualificationsYour information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.SOCOTEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
