Collections Specialist - $20/hr + Monthly Incentive

Position Summary Customer Engagement role at Sallie Mae located in Fishers, Indiana. Responsible for making and receiving customer calls to address overdue accounts, discuss repayment options, and provide exceptional service while encouraging customers to make payments. Responsibilities Make and receive customer calls regarding overdue accounts and repayment options. Provide exceptional customer service and encourage payments. Accurately record customer interactions including communication logs, payments, repayment plan enrollments, and other information. Meet quality goals, compliance regulations, and productivity targets. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business preferred. Experience in customer service or collections related roles. Ability to demonstrate empathy while being assertive to achieve outcomes. Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Excellent negotiation, probing, influencing, and resourcefulness skills. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Professionalism and energetic, driven attitude. Compensation \strong> Base pay ‘Twenty dollars per hour’ with monthly incentives ranging from $1,250 to $2,500 based on performance. Schedule First 90 days required in office, Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. After 90 days, flexible work: office or hybrid with some days from home. Shift options: 8 a.m.–5 p.m., 10 a.m.–7 p.m., 12 p.m.–9 p.m.; evening shift receives 15% differential. Schedule bids every 6 months; higher performance ranking gives priority. Must be flexible to work some Saturdays. Location Fishers, Indiana.
