Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring CA licensure, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital featuring a Level III NICU and county-designated trauma center
• Provides care to patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations
• Circulates for C-Sections and assists with epidural catheter placement
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Schedule is based on unit needs with no block scheduling
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required

Additional Information

• Performs physical and psychosocial patient assessments considering age, cultural differences, and support for fetal demise
• Initiates multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Demonstrates clinical judgment in managing perinatal emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
• Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding, recognizing and managing abnormalities
• Manages pain control for laboring patients, including support for alternative pain management methods
• Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel according to scope of practice
• Position is represented by CNA
• Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
