RN Supervisor

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units. Provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to various nursing units. Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts. Communicates with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates to resolve issues. Contacts the Director of Nursing on off hours for critical issues requiring resolution. Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Administrator. Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and customers in a professional and courteous manner. Demonstrated ability to manage oneself professionally in stressful situations. Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities. Enhances the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Familiarity with regulatory requirements. Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Computer literacy is essential. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks may involve potential contact with blood and body fluids. Models, exemplifies, and leads in accordance with principles of a healing environment. Ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect and well-being, and exemplifies healthy relationships.
