Part Time Medical Assistant

Part Time Medical Assistant Residential Facility Mount Sinai Wellness Center is growing and searching for a motivated, compassionate individual to add to our team! We are a dual diagnosis facility that provides detox and residential treatment to clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Responsibilities: * Assisting the nurses with vital signs, answering the phone, acquiring Prior Authorizations for medications, and finding out what pharmacy a patient needs to utilize according to their insurance. * Assisting in getting patients into the nurses stations for assessment by the nurses. * Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. * Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. * Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. * Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications * Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Qualifications: * High School Diploma * Medical Assistant certification preferred. * Working with nurses to assist in medical assistant duties. * Experience working with insurance companies. * Experience in supply management and infection control * Creating a safe and effective environment * Organization, scheduling, good communication and patient focus skills * Professionalism and team player * Understands confidentiality and good bedside manner * Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check Salary Range: Generally starting at $15.00 an hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
